I am a retired math teacher with a history of tormenting my students with what some referred to as Mr. Pitsch jokes. Famed for my unusual tennis reports during a long career heading the team, it soon became apparent that as a coach I was a pretty decent writer.
As the designated retirement party MC for many years, I honed a talent for writing song parodies to go along with my greatest hit, acclaimed by my tens of fans, The Ballad of the Booger Man.
For the past fifteen odd years, with emphasis on odd, I have concentrated on middle-grade novels, burnished by a wonderful critique group via membership in SCBWI. Verle the Squirrel Shoots for the Stars is the first to be published, and the accounts of his adventures will soon continue with a sequel, Verle and the Legend of Creepy Hollow. Beyond that looms a lineup of books with human (mostly) characters.
As a sidelight, I have been crafting church sign slogans for several years, and I will be releasing them on this site, one by one.
I live on twelve acres of the family farm on the west bank of the Chippewa River near Jim Falls, Wisconsin with my wife and three cats of diverse temperaments. Critters, wild and tame, roam the vicinity, providing constant inspiration.
